Solar Chargers

Why Go Solar?
Solar is one of the easiest, most affordable, and efficient ways to charge your van’s battery—plus, the sun’s power is free!

A single 200W panel can generate around 10–12 amps per hour in full sun. Parked up in summer? You could fully charge a 100Ah battery in a day—no driving needed. Add more panels or a blanket, and you’ve got a powerful, free-charging setup.

What You’ll Need
To run solar, you’ll need a solar charge controller (MPPT). Use Victron’s handy calculator to find the right one.

Quick Calculator Guide:

  1. Choose a solar panel (175–200W is most common).

  2. Select how many panels you plan to install.

  3. Leave “strings” as 1 (we wire in one series).

Recommended MPPT Sizes:

  • 100/15 (15A): Budget-friendly, for 1 panel under 200W

  • 100/20 (20A): For max output from a single 200W panel

  • 100/30 (30A): Ideal for up to 3 panels

  • 100/50 (50A): Best for 2–4 panels + future add-ons like blankets

Going big with 4+ panels? Run 2 x 100/50 MPPTs for ultimate performance.
